Apple Mac Mini Mc238ll-A Desktop Vs Gateway Sx2802-03 Desktop

Design: We just had to make a quick comparison between these two models because they are currently some of the best-selling desktop models in the market. They also happen to have almost identical price tags, which makes it even easier to make a comparison. Both desktop models currently retails for just around $579 each.

To date, the Mac Mini has remained to be one of the most compact desktop models in the market and the new Apple Mac Mini MC238LL/A is of no exception. It is extremely tiny, measuring at just 6.5 x 6.5 x 2 inches. It also sports a very minimalist look where the only feature that is visible from the front is the DVD slot.

The Gateway SX2802-03 desktop model is also quite compact by normal desktop standards. It is a tower style desktop model and measures at 10.5 x 4 x 12.5 inches. It is by no means as compact as the Mac Mini but still quite small compared to other full-featured laptop.

Specs & Performance: Besides the design, one of the biggest differences between these two desktop models would have to be in its specs. Actually, calling it a big difference would be quite an understatement. The Apple Mac Mini MC238LL/A comes with a 2.26Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, 160GB for storage and 2GB of RAM. The Gateway SX2802-03 desktop on the other hand has the new 2.5Ghz Quad processor, 6GB of RAM and a huge 1TB hard drive (that is 1024GB for storage!).

Although Mac computers and the Mac OS are known to outperform Windows based computers, I highly doubt that the Apple Mac Mini MC238LL/A would outperform the Gateway SX2802-03 considering the big specs difference. Despite its very affordable price, this Gateway model currently has some of the most powerful specs that any consumer desktops can have! So is the Apple desktop model better than the Gateway model? Well, if the design and size of the desktop is more important than computing power and performance, then the Mac Mini may be an appealing choice for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a high-performance desktop with lots of storage and very powerful specs (not to mention great value for money), the Gateway SX2802-03 will be the perfect desktop for you!

For more reviews and product info on the Gateway desktop, visit Gateway SX2802-03. For more reviews and product info on the new Mac Mini desktop, visit Mac Mini MC238LL/A.

Where to Find Bluetooth Peripheral Device Drivers

If your computer is equipped with a Bluetooth adapter and Bluetooth devices, there will come a time when you'll need to locate Bluetooth peripheral device drivers. Where to start? The three main places for finding Bluetooth drivers are: Windows Update, individual manufacturers' websites, and third party device management software.

Finding Bluetooth peripheral device drivers using Windows Update is relatively easy, though not foolproof. Windows Update updates your system with Microsoft-issued updates as well as hardware updates from many manufacturers. If Microsoft doesn't have a copy of the latest drivers, it won't be able to deliver it to you. On the other hand, it's easy to do and worth a shot. Simply go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update and click the "Check for updates" link. Alternately, you can go to Control Panel > Device Manager and use it to check for Bluetooth peripheral drivers for a specific device. In this case, you'll need to find the device in the list, double-click it, click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then let Windows search its database for the right drivers.

If Windows Update doesn't find any Bluetooth drivers, your next step is to go to the manufacturer's website and search for the drivers you want. You have two choices here. One, you can go to your computer's manufacturer's website and search for all updates specific to your model computer such as Dell, Toshiba, or Sony; or two, you can go to the manufacturer's website for a specific device such as a Logitech keyboard or an HP printer. Once you've located the Bluetooth drivers, you'll need to download and install them. Many are self-executing and all you'll need to do is click the downloaded file and allow it to run. Others will need to be saved on your computer and then manually installed using Device Manager or the printer's driver update utility if you're updating a Bluetooth printer.

The third option for finding Bluetooth peripheral device drivers is to invest in a device driver management software tool. These programs are designed specifically for updating device drivers including Bluetooth peripheral device drivers. What's nice about these utilities is that once you set them up, they continue working for you, finding and installing the latest hardware and Bluetooth peripheral device drivers as they become available. You do not need to manually search for drivers and install them; the software does it for you. Plus with dozens of devices on your computer, keeping your drivers current is time consuming and tedious.

No matter how you update your drivers, make sure to set a restore point beforehand and reboot your system afterwards. The restore point will give you peace of mind and while the reboot will finalize the update process. If you need Bluetooth device drivers, you have several ways to find them. Whether you need to update a single device or want to update all devices on your system, these three options are easy to use.

DriversUpdate.org offers device driver management tools, software reviews, and advice for updating hardware. Whether you need to update Bluetooth peripheral device drivers or any other device, plan a stop at DriversUpdate.org.

Bluetooth Mouse

If you are a person who is tired of making presentation with those annoying wires of your mouse getting in your way disturbing you, then you can very well understand the convenience of a wireless mouse. When we decide to go for wireless mouse, we have two options: RF mouse and Bluetooth mouse. The obvious expert's choice is going to be the Bluetooth mouse because of the Bluetooth connectivity.

If you are planning to upgrade your computer or if your computer is Bluetooth enabled, then your best option is to go for Bluetooth mouse. That too, if you have integrated Bluetooth in your laptop, then Bluetooth mouse will be an ideal accessory for your laptop. So wondering what makes the Bluetooth special? Firstly you don't need to install dongle. If you already own a Bluetooth enabled laptop or computer, then your Bluetooth mouse will work straightaway even without the installation of Bluetooth dongle.

Since the Bluetooth mice are in the growing phase, not many companies are involved in its production. Some of the best Bluetooth mice are manufactured by computer accessory giants Microsoft and Logitech.

The Microsoft Bluetooth mouse is called as Intellimouse which has tilted wheels that adds more convenience while the Logitech Bluetooth mice are named as MX-900 which comes with a design similar to the traditional mouse. Since the Intellimouses are using tilted wheels you might need some time to get used to it. But once you get used to it, then you can scroll at ease.

If you are looking for cheaper BT mice, you can find lot of online companies selling them for you. But you need to select either Intellimouse or MX-900 if you want to buy a quality product with reliability. Paying a bit more is not going to bother you much if you can get a quality and reliable product with that money.

Advantages of Ergonomic Keyboards

Ergonomic keyboards are specially designed computer keyboards with an aim to reduce stress on your wrists and forearms while typing. They have been around for quite some time now, and its been proven that the special contour designs of these keyboards are definitely worth the trouble.

A common ergonomic keyboard design is one where the keyboards seems to be split in half, and each half is positioned on an angle to match the shape of your wrists when typing.

If you use a computer frequently, and especially if you do a lot of typing, you'll want to make sure you are comfortable with your keyboard. And so, buying an ergonomic computer keyboard would be a great investment for you. You'll save your hands, forearms and wrists from discomfort, making you more productive and allowing you to work for longer periods of time.

Also, if you've ever experienced pain in your hands, wrists or forearms associated with using your keyboard in the past, you will want to consider dumping your old keyboard and buying an ergonomic one to save you from the pain.

If your use of the computer doesn't include extensive keyboard work, you might not see the full benefits from an ergonomic keyboard. Although, I would still recommend an ergonomic keyboard for all computer users, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Buying an ergonomic keyboard is a great investment that will save you in the long run.

How to Connect Your iPad With a Bluetooth Headset

Your iPad is configured to utilize a wireless technology called Bluetooth, which enables you to make wireless connections to other Bluetooth compatible devices. Most laptop computers come with Bluetooth built in to the system as well as most cell phones. The Bluetooth device allows your iPad to connect with any Bluetooth compatible device such as keyboard or mouse, cell phone, digital camera, printer, headset etc. Bluetooth technology is for short range use therefore 33 feet is the maximum distance two Bluetooth devices should be apart from each other.

Configuring and connecting any two Bluetooth devices is very simple and can be broken into two distinct phases: Discoverable and Pairing.

Bluetooth devices only broadcast their availability when you want them to. This is called making your device "discoverable". For privacy and functionality, many Bluetooth devices need to be paired with another device before the connection is established. "Pairing" or "to pair" or "paired" is simply the technical language on making a permanent connection between two Bluetooth devices. This is useful because once two devices are paired; you never have to configure the devices again. Just turn them on and two devices will automatically connect to each other even in a room full of other Bluetooth devices. All Bluetooth devices can be "un-paired," meaning you can break the connection and pair with another Bluetooth device.

To Pair a device, you must first make it discoverable, connect to the device of your choosing, and enter a multi-digit (usually four) pass code or PIN. Pairing devices such as your cell phone with your iPad will allow you to choose a unique pass code. For other devices such as Bluetooth headset, the headset comes with a default passkey that you enter in your iPad during the pairing process. (Notes: Even though most headsets default passkey is 0000, your connection will be secure with your iPad.)

How to connect your iPad with a Bluetooth headset

Connecting your iPad with a Bluetooth headset:

1. Turn on your Bluetooth receiver in your iPad. If your iPad already has the Bluetooth receiver on you will see a Bluetooth logo in the status bar next to the battery status icon.
2. Touch "Settings" on the Home screen.
3. Touch "General" in the Settings screen.
4. Touch "Bluetooth" in the General Screen and turn the Bluetooth on.
5. Turn on the Bluetooth headset and make it discoverable. Follow the directions of the manufacture to make your device discoverable. For example, Jawbone headsets require pressing and holding both device buttons till the signal light flashes red and white.
6. Your iPad should now display the name of your Bluetooth headset. Touch the name of the Bluetooth headset. Your iPad should pair with the headset and prompt for the passkey.
7. Enter the headset passkey in the iPad PIN box. (The default key is often 0000 but check the manufacturer instructions)

How to use your Bluetooth headset to listen to music

After you've paired a headset, your iPad should make your headset the "default output audio device." Follow the steps below if this does not happen"

1. Touch "iPod" on the Home Screen to load the iPod app.
2. Once the iPod app loads check to see what icon is at the top left corner of the screen. If you a speaker icon that means the iPad is using your built in speakers as the default output audio device.
3. At the bottom of the screen you will see the status bar. Touch the Bluetooth icon.
4. Touch your paired Bluetooth headset.
5. You should now hear your song playing through the Bluetooth headset instead of the system speakers.

Bluetooth2 How to connect your iPad with a Bluetooth headset

How to Unpair your Bluetooth headset

If you no longer plan to use a headset with your iPad, you can unpair the devices by following these steps:

1. Touch "Settings" on the Home Screen. The Settings screen should pop up.
2. Touch "General". The General screen displays.
3. Touch "Bluetooth". The Bluetooth screen displays.
4. Touch the name of the Bluetooth headset.
5. Touch "Forget this Device". Your iPad unpairs the Bluetooth headset.
