Gear Head Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse - Keyboard - wireless - Bluetooth - 108 keys - mouse Review

The picture may show a black keyboard, but it comes in white (and personally, I didn't want white). I tried to resolve the issue with ANTOnline, who told me they "don't specify color"! But the picture is black! The keyboard is also a different, more rectangular, shape. ANTOnline only would tell me to return it at my expense, and when I offered alternative solutions, they refused to respond to my emails. So if you want this keyboard and mouse - which by the way does work well - expect it in WHITE and I highly discourage you from buying from ANTOnline.

Does not work with latest versions of Mac OS X - fizik -
I have purchased two sets in Jan 2009 for use with my Mac laptop and desktop. The set seemed to be a good deal for the money -- while it lasted that is. The mouse became unusable after one of the Leopard updates and doesn't work since, with Snow Leopard including. The symptoms were described by one of the reviewers -- it does not hold bluetooth connection. I deleted the mouse from the list of known bluetooth devices on my Intel MacBook Pro, that I had been using it with, and after that I was unable to pair it back with my MB Pro. As a matter of fact, I couldn't pair it with any of my Intel or PowerPC Macs, laptop and desktops (all Leopard/Snow Leopard), or a bluetooth-equipped HP netbook. Keyboard still works -- sort of: it looses bluetooth connection periodically, especially after long idle periods. I went to Gear Head web site and found no firmware updates or any other suggestions on fixing the problem -- absolutely unacceptable! Incidentally, the story with the second set is identical -- the mouse broke down after exactly the same Leopard update so it is clearly a firmware incompatibility. I gave the product two stars only because I did get some use out of it, especially keyboard, but users should beware of the manufacturer that doesn't support its products.

Don't get it - Ziegenbock - Illinois
I just bought this set for my MacBook and am already frustrated with it beyond belief. I was tired of using USB connections required to connect an external keyboard/mouse (my MacBook comes with only 2 USB connections). Do yourself a favor and get a different set (which most likely will be more expensive, though). The mouse is a total piece of crap. Basically, it is so imprecise that it is unusable. You simply cannot specifically target your clicks, because of a "jumpy" trajectory. Plus, it disconnects literally every second - in order to reconnect it, you need to double-click. The problem with that is that you sometimes cannot tell whether it disconnected or not and you might click on links you did not intend to click on. I just ordered a more expensive Logitech Bluetooth mouse out of frustration. The keyboard is only slightly better. Once it is connected, it works fine. The problem, however, is that it automatically disconnects throughout the day. The "connect" button that is on the keyboard won't do, so you need to go through the whole installation set-up, again, when it disconnects and plug in a 7 or 8 digit number to reconnect it. BTW, I read a different review that stated the exact same problem, so it is not just an issue with my computer (and has nothing to do with range - the keyboard is directly in front of my laptop). Really frustrating. In short: Get a different one!

As Advertized - modoist - Springfield, VA USA
I needed the keyboard with my Mac Book Pro in order to use the number pad for certain software needs. It works like a charm. The keyboard was so easy to install that I went ahead and installed the mouse as well -- thus freeing up another USB port.

Although the product is white (as previously noted), this order is exactly as advertized. It arrived quickly and installed in the blink of an eye.

good idea but not quite work yet - H. Chen - Fullerton, CA
I love the idea of using bluetooth tech w/ keyboard and mouse. The biggest problem I have is to recharging the battery. Every time I change battery, the unit loose the connection. Not quite convenient.
